When we receive your inquiry, or a referral from a funeral director, we will make contact and
arrange to visit you at your home. Often, other members of the family also wish to be present
and participate in the planning. This gives us the opportunity to find out, in an environment
where you and your family will be relaxed and comfortable, everything we need to know to
enable us to create a unique service.
This meeting, which generally lasts around 90 minutes, is usually a mixture of laughter and tears
as we build a full picture of the person who has died and learn all about their life.
The eulogy is the name given to the tribute that is read during the service. We call it the Life Story. It will usually contain some factual information about the person who has died, such as where and when they were born and their family details, as well as references to their career, hobbies, details of their passions in life, achievements and what was important to them. We will speak with several people to build up a full picture, including family, friends and colleagues, with your permission.
Sometimes family members or friends wish to say a few words or read a poem in honour of their
loved one during the funeral. All of this is included along with anything else you may want.
Music choices are very personal and can range from traditional funeral tunes to classical, rock 'n
roll, jazz, opera or pop - whatever your loved one preferred and you choose to use.
Once the service is planned and the tribute written, we will send it to your for checking, to
ensure that the details are correct. We will also contact any other individuals that you want to
participate in the service to run through everything and answer any questions.
